The ABC is Australia’s national broadcaster, funded by the Australian Parliament. It operates independent from Government through the ABC Act, overseen by the ABC Board and ABC Charter.
ABC International Development (ABCID) manages and implements media development and communication for development projects throughout the Asia Pacific region. It manages the Media for Development Initiative (MDI) in Papua New Guinea (PNG), which this position directly contributes to.
MDI is a partnership between media organisations of Papua New Guinea, ABCID and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, under the Australian Aid PNG Governance Facility’s Decentralisation and Citizen Participation Program (DCPP). The DCPP implements the agreed Australian Aid governance development priorities of the PNG and Australian governments.
