Business Development Manager Agencies

An opportunity has risen within the Division for an experienced Business Development Manager Agencies.

Based in Port Moresby, this position will report to the General Manager Commercial and will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our charter services by identifying and securing new business opportunities. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to expand our client base, increase revenue, and enhance our charter market presence.

The following are the key responsibilities:

  • Maintain external commercial relations and strong communication lines with stakeholders/contractors
  • Comprises of the Commercial team, corporate safety, charter safety coordinators, corporate Training, Operations, Engineering team, IT and Finance teams to ensure communication of customer needs and follow up actions are taken up promptly.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, market trends and competitive landscape
  • Analyse customer needs and industry requirements to develop targeted strategies
  • Identify and cultivate new business relationships with potential clients
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline (that is whilst oil and Gas market will be a key focus, other areas need to explored and expanded)
  • Prepare compelling proposals and presentations tailored to the unique needs of prospective clients
  • Engage internal key stakeholders and deliver engaging presentations including client tender bid to show case our charter services and value proposition
  • Lead negotiations with clients to finalize contract terms, pricing, and service agreements in conjunction with internal key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with legal and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of contracts
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, addressing their needs and concerns
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, safety, and engineering, to ensure cohesive and effective business strategies
  • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the success of business development initiatives.
  • Regularly analyse and report on sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Any other Task assigned by CEO or his delegate

For your application to be considered, you must have relevant qualification with previous experience in a similar role including the following key attributes;

  • The ability to proactively develop systems/ products and procedures and ability to operate effectively in a
  • Possess a deep understanding of the charter industry, including knowledge of regulations, compliance standards, and best practices
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging opportunities to maintain a competitive edge
  • Utilize data analytics tools and market intelligence to identify potential clients, assess market trends, and make informed strategic decisions
  • Analyse performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of business development initiatives
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to manage and track leads, contacts, and opportunities
  • Proficient in preparing detailed and comprehensive proposals using tools like Microsoft Word or specialized proposal management software
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis, including pricing models, cost-benefit analysis, and budgeting, to support strategic decision-making and ensure profitability
  • Tertiary qualities preferably in Business related discipline
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the charter industry.
  • Strong understanding of charter services, regulations, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Experience in the Aviation industry and/or PNG /emerging market experience is an advantage
  • Strong negotiator
  • 5 – 10 years of industry experience
