Clinical Lecturer (Nursing)

Pacific Adventist University (PAU) is owned and operated by the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The institution is accredited to the Adventist Accreditation Association, an international denominational authority for all tertiary and graduate educational programs and institutions owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church entities. The main campus is located on the pristine Koiari Park, 14 miles outside Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. The institution was established in 1984. Since then, it has grown from a college of 20 students, to a university of over 1000 students from across the Pacific.
The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Nursing Clinical Lecturer to join our School of Health Science. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong clinical background and a passion for teaching and mentoring nursing students. The Nursing Clinical Lecturer will be responsible for delivering clinical instruction, supervising students in healthcare settings, and ensuring that students are adequately prepared for nursing practice. The role also involves collaboration with faculty and the university to maintain a high standard of clinical education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical nursing or Nursing Administration.
- Hold current Nursing Registration with the PNG Nursing Council Board.
- Have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology and Nursing in general
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
- Experience in teaching, supervising and assessing, nursing theory, lab practicals and clinical practicums.
- Ability to facilitate clinical placements for students.
- Ability to contribute to curriculum development.
- Have a high professional standard and the ability to work with people from diverse cultures
- Ability to Supervise, monitor and co-ordinate clinical learning for students in laboratory practicals and practicum.
- Have the ability to implement student’s clinical teaching assessment tool.
- Ability to do Clinical teaching based on competency-based learning in compliance with the NCPNG nursing
- Ability to plan and co-ordinate annual clinical program using team teaching approach.
- Able to negotiate or liaise between the Health Department, School of Health Science, PNG Nursing Council and other Health Services for clinical requirements of students and lecturers.
- Monitor student clinical performances and attendances during practicum
