Report to the Chief Financial Officer and serve as a key partner to the Plant Manager within the operations leadership team, supporting daily operations as well as long-term strategic planning, including vision, organisation, practices, and initiatives/projects. Provide insights into operational costs by conducting relevant analyses and reporting, monitoring the budget, controlling variances, and ensuring compliance with financial and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Challenge assumptions for cost improvements in the Technical Network; validate and review proposed savings.
- Oversee COGM improvements and coordinate accurate, timely reporting and forecasting.
- Ensure transparency and compliance with financial policies, standards, and internal controls.
- Participate in business planning and budget preparation; ensure on-time, on-cost completion.
- Develop and evaluate capital investment plans; ensure timely capitalisation and tax allowance claims. Maintain control and visibility of assets and liabilities; coach and develop Technical finance personnel.
- Promote financial understanding within Technical; organise training for non-specialists.
- Ensure transparency of costs and financial impacts of strategic decisions; organise benchmarking. Manage factory budget, raw material costs, and compliance for costing and audit activities.
- Evaluate product costing and Transfer Pricing; coordinate internal and external audits.
- Formal financial qualification of appropriate level (degree or similar) Prior experience as operation co-pilot (factory and/or SC) or head office costing plus experiences in other finance departments such
- Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry experience
- Experience within a network organisation (internal and external providers)
- Good communicator, written and oral
- Good Interpersonal skills
- Good organisation and planning skills
- Deep understanding of business principles, manufacturing processes, and operational efficiency.
- Self-aware, insightful, and courageous with a strong service orientation.
- Skilled in financial analysis, cost management, and strategic planning
- Knowledgeable in ERP systems, manufacturing operations, and product profitability.
- Strong grasp of control issues and governance frameworks.
