Operating in Papua New Guinea for over 30 years, Nestle PNG Limited is seeking a qualified and
experienced Factory Chemist to join our Quality Assurance Team, based in our Lae Factory site.

Reporting directly to the Laboratory Compliance Coordinator, the position holder will be responsible for
analysing raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products while ensuring product quality and assisting in the implementation of the Nestlé Quality System.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate testing results
• Prepare solutions and conditional media for various tests
• Analyse factory water, steam, and reference samples to monitor quality
• Control product quality on production lines and assist in troubleshooting quality issues
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities and results
• Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to implement quality control measures
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in the laboratory.
• Participate in the development and training of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory
  processes.

Qualification, skills, and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, preferably in the
  food industry
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles and laboratory practices
• Proficient in using laboratory equipment and analytical techniques
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
