We are seeking to recruit an Ancillary Planner for our Mobile Fleet Maintenance – Planning Department. Reporting to the Senior Planner, the core objective is to improve work efficiency and quality by removing potential delays through the planning and organization of labour, parts and equipment. The Planner is responsible for the screening, planning and estimating of identified work and managing these work orders in the CMMS (Pronto).

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Comply with all Systems of Work requirements for the position as per document PY 182 "MFM Work Management Process".
  • Raise corrective work orders when faults or corrective work is required
  • Initial screening of incoming work orders
  • Coordinate with Supervisors and Superintendents to identify work priority
  • Job walk to identify the scope of planned work
  • Estimate required hours for jobs
  • Plan work to enough detail for trades to carry out the task
  • Maintain Assets in the CMMS (Pronto)
  • Update the CMMS (Pronto) with all planning requirements
  • Manage input of all data (hour meter readings, SMU's, fuel consumption and actual machine hours) into Pronto through the work order system.
  • Confirm return flights to site are true and accurate prior to departing for Field Break to ensure sufficient manning.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

  • Must have over 3 years working experience in an open pit mining or heavy vehicle service environment
  • Must have experience with light vehicle & trucks planning & scheduling in the fleet maintenance department
  • Qualified Tradesperson with relevant trade certificates and skills on mobile equipment
  • Experience in CMMS preferably Pronto and data management of CMMS Systems
  • Experience in developing weekly plans
  • Attention to detail and focus on task setting and tracking to completion
  • Knowledge in preparing detailed forecast plan presentations to communicate planning proposals.
  • Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive light vehicles and ancillary equipment plans.
  • Conduct assessments, collect data, and analyse information relevant to planning activities.
  • Coordinate with workshop/field supervisors and coordinators, as well as other departments to ensure plan is aligned
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of implemented plans, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Excellent technical problem solving and time management skills
  • Strong computer literacy skills, - Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, and know how to use MS Projects)

The above role is Hidden Valley mine site based.

Company Description: The Hidden Valley mine is an open pit gold and silver mine, situated in the Morobe province in Papua New Guinea, some 210km northwest of Port Moresby and approximately 90km south-southwest from Lae, the capital of the province. The mine is located at elevations between 2 800m and 1 700m above sea level within steep mountainous and forested terrain that experiences approximately 3m of rainfall per year. The major gold and silver deposits of Hidden Valley are located in the Morobe Granodiorite of the Wau Graben. Crushed ore is conveyed from the Hidden Valley pit via a 3.8km long overland pipe conveyor and is treated at the Hidden Valley processing plant, which uses a two stage crushing circuit followed by a SAG mill, gravity, CCD/Merril Crowe circuit for silver and carbon-in-leach circuit for the gold.
