We are seeking to recruit a Belt Fitter for our Fixed Plant Maintenance (FPM) - OLC & Crusher Department. Reporting to the Crusher & OLC Specialist, the successful applicant will mainly be responsible for safely preforming preventative maintenance and repairs on OLC Rollers and carry out regular routine inspections.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Safely perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on all fixed plant equipment ensuring all are in good operating conditions as well as to do change outs on damaged rollers and assist Crusher Operations where and when required.
• Lead in the utilisation of site safety systems and procedures
• Reporting of all accidents and incidents, no matter how minor, to immediate supervisor
• Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy at all times
• Ensure JSEA’s are developed for each tasks within work team environment
• Ensure unsafe or defective tooling and equipment are identified and reported to immediate supervisor
• Capable of locating, reading and understanding technical drawings, repair procedures, technical data and MSDS
• Actively participate in the development of employee job training plans
• Provide concise and accurate written feedbacks on work orders, with history notes on hours worked, work performed, parts used and status of job or equipment condition
• Ensure all tooling is returned to proper storage location on completion of tasks
• Provide informative handovers to Supervisor or team members.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

• Fitter/ Machinist by Trade with PNG NATTB Tradesman Certificate
• 5 years’ experience in the mining, construction or heavy industrial environment
• Have basic working knowledge of computerised maintenance system
• Ability to work to a flexible roster and varying working hours when required.
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrate sound technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot
• Have current & valid PNG’s class 3 or 6 Driver’s Licence (optional)
• Have basic computer skills in MS Excel, Word & Outlook
• Strong planning, analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrate matured approach and strong self-discipline
• Ability to work unsupervised with a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement
• Demonstrate excellent time management and organisation skills

The above role is Hidden Valley mine site based.
