Position Vacant: HR Manager – Papua New Guinea

We are now seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to join our leadership team in Port Moresby. This is a key role responsible for driving our HR strategy and supporting the continued growth and success of our PNG operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager – PNG (with a dotted line to the HR Manager, Australia), the HR Manager will lead and manage the full spectrum of human resources activities including:

• Developing and implementing the PNG HR Strategic and Business Plans.
• Leading recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes for shore-based employees.
• Driving performance management, talent and succession planning initiatives.
• Advising management and employees on HR, IR, and PNG employment legislation.
• Overseeing learning and development programs including cadet and training plans.
• Managing employee engagement, welfare, and workplace investigations.
• Supervising payroll operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture.

This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in people leadership, employee relations, and continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of HR management experience within PNG.
• Proven capability in developing and implementing HR strategies.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of PNG labour laws and HR best practices.
• High ethical standards, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
• Experience in the maritime or logistics sector will be highly regarded.
