HSE Advisor

HBS PNG LIMITED currently operates in numerous mine sites across PNG, both on the mainland and remote island locations. We own and operate one of the largest and best maintained mining fleets in PNG, offering the mining sector a variety of services including road construction, maintenance, haulage, lighting, crushing services and plant equipment hire.

We are taking expressions of interest for highly and suitably qualified individuals for the position of HSE Advisor. Applicants must have experience within the mining and construction fields and must be a Lihirian or from New Ireland province or Rabaul based.

This role will involve:

• Advising & coordinating HSE procedures and systems for project site.
• Carrying out and document safety inspections, audits and observations to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and documented processes and procedures.
• Assisting in the preparation & review of Safe Work Instructions, Safe Work Method Statements, Safety and Health Plans, policy and procedures and ensure that all legislative requirements are met.
• Assisting management of the Safety Committee Meeting, close out actions raised in the field and communicate the same to all personnel involved.
• Advising relevant Project and contracting personnel of any non-compliance and assist in ensuring compliance is achieved as soon as practically possible including when and where NCRs are required for serious or repeat areas.
• Ensuring the timely notification and resolution of safety issues.
• Allocate Security access to pass holders for site access and building access
• Provide assistance to the wider project team where required.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role

• Knowledge in Software Training systems

• Good verbal and written communication
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and outlook

• Completed Level 1 to 4 – Occupational Health & Safety Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
