The Institute of Business Studies (IBS), from its’ humble beginning in 1987 as an arm of Nades & Associates primarily providing revision classes for the needs of Papua New Guinea Institute of Accountants (now CPA PNG), has evolved into a private University level Institution over the last 38 years. Today we are one of the largest business schools in the country and off degree programmes in the fields of Accounting & Finance, Business & Management, Economics & Development Studies and Information Technology. We also continue to provide study pathways for grade 10 & 12 school leavers including industry accreditations for those seasoned professionals who want to get certified in their field.

Job Purpose
The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading and managing all marketing, branding, promotions, recruitment support, call center operations, and stakeholder engagement across IBSUniversity, IBS College of TVET, IBS Centre of Excellence, the Research Division, and the Career Development Centre.
The role drives student enrolments, strengthens the IBS brand, builds strong school and industry partnerships, and ensures coordinated communication across all IBS business arms.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Branding
- Develop and execute annual marketing strategies aligned with IBS’s goals.
- Lead brand positioning and ensure consistent branding across all IBS entities.
- Oversee all advertising campaigns, promotional activities, and media engagements.
Conduct market research and track competitor trends to inform strategy.
Student Recruitment Support
- Implement comprehensive recruitment campaigns for all programs.
- Coordinate closely with the Call Centre, Enrolment Team, and Academic Schools to support lead conversion.
- Lead Open Days, Roadshows, Career Fairs, and School Awareness events.
Call Centre Leadership & Customer Engagement
- Manage and supervise the Call Centre team to ensure high-quality enquiry handling.
- Set call handling standards (speed, tone, conversion approach, follow-ups).
- Monitor call logs, response times, lead follow-ups, and enquiry conversion rates.
- Develop call scripts, FAQs, and customer service guidelines.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly reporting from the Call Centre to track lead generation and conversion performance.
- Coach call center staff on customer service excellence and enrolment messaging.
Partnership & MOA Development
- Lead MOA signings with secondary schools in NCD, Central, and provincial areas.
- Maintain strong relationships with principals, career advisers, and education leaders.
- Conduct partner school outreach activities, including workshops and career sessions.
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Oversee social media strategy and content creation (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube).
- Manage online enquiry responses and ensure customer-friendly engagement.
- Track digital analytics (leads, reach, engagement, conversion) and improve ROI.
Marketing Team Leadership
- Provide direction, coaching, and performance management for all marketing staff and call center officers.
- Set monthly KPIs and targets for marketing and call center teams.
- Facilitate ongoing training for digital marketing, branding, and customer service skills.
Stakeholder Engagement & Community Relations
- Represent IBS in community events, education expos, and corporate networking.
- Strengthen IBS visibility through CSR programs and community outreach.
- Build productive partnerships with churches, NGOs, businesses, and local leaders.
Support to IBS Business Arms
- Deliver tailored marketing and branding support to:
- IBSUniversity – academic programs and Schools
- IBS College of TVET – certificate & diploma programs
- IBS Centre of Excellence – corporate training, workshops & team building
- Research Division – publications, conferences & awareness activities
- Career Development Centre – student employability, employer partnerships
Reporting & Performance Management
- Monthly marketing and call center performance reports.
- Maintain updated databases for leads, conversions, partner schools, and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure proper use of marketing and call center budgets.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, Business, or related field.
- Experience: 8 + years of marketing experience including minimum 3 years in a Managerial role and team leadership.
- Strong experience in customer service, call center management, or sales.
- Demonstrated experience in digital marketing and branding.
Desirable
- Experience in education sector marketing.
- Knowledge of the PNG education landscape.
- Experience in public speaking or community outreach.
