We are currently seeking an experienced Operational Risk Officer to join our Risk and Compliance team and lead our efforts in ensuring quality risk management in the business.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Operational Risk Officer is responsible for assisting the Chief Risk Officer for the development and maintenance of a well-defined Enterprise Risk Management Framework. This role involves implementing operational risk management frameworks, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that operational risks are managed in accordance with the company’s risk appetite, policies, and procedures.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING WITH YOUR EXPERIENCE
Policy Development and Management
- Assist in the development of risks management frameworks and risk management plan.
- Familiarize with the best practice on Risk Management and its application on day-to-day Management of risks.
- Implement the risk management plan and perform relevant quality control assurance checks to ensure adherence.
Operational Risk Assessment, Reporting and Monitoring
- Develop and regularly perform the risk assessment with the company.
- Perform activities of the Integrated Risk Management unit, including RCSA, KRI, Control Assurance activities etc.
- Assist the CRO in Business Continuity Management (BCM), including development and updating of relevant BCM policies and processes.
- Monitor and report operational risk incidents, including breaches, losses, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare reports on operational risks to CRO and Board Risk Management and Compliance Committee.
Regulatory Analysis and Training
- Research and understand changes in the organisation both internal and external factors.
- Work with the CRO to develop risk management guidance materials, training resources, and controls.
- Plan and conduct training sessions for staff, as applicable
Additional Key responsibilities
- Work closely with other departments to integrate risk management practices into business processes and decision-making.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to identify and evaluate risks.
- Support executive/senior management on required activities where necessary.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING WITH YOUR BACKGROUND
- Graduate Degree in Business Studies, Law, Accounting, or specific training in risk management
- Preferably with experience in financial institution industry with a focus on risk management or similar roles such as compliance management, or internal audit
- Strong understanding of the regulatory and legal framework relevant to the financial institution industry
- Team player who can collaborate and support colleagues and peers across the organization while still being able to work independently and professionally as needed.
- Results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines on assignments, manage multiple demands, and work with individuals of various individuals within the organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Visio
- Analytical and inquisitive mindset
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
