PARTS CONTROLLER

As part of the Plant & Hire team, the successful incumbent for this role will be responsible for the acquisition of parts for vehicles or plant equipment and ensuring that the finished manufactured products are delivered to clients in the most timely and expeditious manner.

To be successful in this role, we need a Parts Controller who possess and demonstrate the following:

• Minimum of Grade 10 certificate
• Minimum 5 years experience in automotive parts or vehicle and plant maintenance industry
• Professional attributes
  • Vibrant
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, management and suppliers
  • Ability to teach and transfer knowledge
• Automotive & plant parts knowledge
  • Be able to identify parts for vehicles
  • Be able to identify parts for plant
• Experience in procurement
  • Sourcing of correct parts according to specifications and price
  • Stock management – minimum stock
  • Be able to negotiate pricing with suppliers in PNG and abroad
  • Reduce wastage of parts being ordered

• Systems experience
  • Previous work experience with:
    • Pronto (advantageous)
    • Sage
    • Pastel
    • SAP
  • Microsoft
    • Proficient in Excel
    • Word
    • Power point
