Job Description: Payroll Supervisor - PwC PNG

Position Overview: PwC Papua New Guinea is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to providing exceptional payroll services to our diverse client base, ensuring compliance with local regulations and PwC's global standards. The successful candidate will work in a dedicated team of payroll professionals, manage client relationships, and drive process improvements within the payroll function.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a small team of payroll specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving payroll-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Payroll Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with PNG tax laws and employment regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of payroll data.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to streamline payroll operations and improve efficiency.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze payroll reports for clients, providing insights and recommendations for optimizing payroll practices.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to PwC's risk management policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions for team members and clients on payroll systems and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of PNG payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
