Senior Church Pastor
The Organisation:
Pacific Adventist University (PAU) is owned and operated by the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The institution is accredited to the Adventist Accreditation Association, an international denominational authority for all tertiary and graduate educational programs and institutions owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church entities. The main campus is located on the pristine Koiari Park, 14 miles outside Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. The institution was established in 1984. Since then, it has grown from a college of 20 students, to a university of over 1000 students from across the Pacific.
The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic leader to provide spiritual support and nurture to the university community, ensure the integration of Christian values and morals into university programs and activities and provide avenues for witnessing and acts of Christian service to the wider community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, with a minimum 5 years’ experience in Pastoral Ministry. A Post-graduate Degree in Theology will be viewed favourably.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Church Administration, Pastoral Ministry or similar role
Knowledge and Skills:
- Active relationship with Jesus Christ, characterized by a deep desire for worship and service to God
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to Jesus Christ and the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
- Proven ability to work with and minister to young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven ability to design, plan and implement programs that contribute to spiritual well-being.
- Proven ability to develop and manage effective relationships
- Pastoral experience in a university environment.
- Sound understanding of spiritual ministry in Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific.
