Starwest Constructions Limited is seeking experienced Shovel Fitters to join our high-performing Maintenance Team. We operate a diverse fleet of small to large hydraulic mining shovels and are looking for skilled tradespeople with strong experience on O&K RH200 or similar large mining shovels.
About the Role
As a Shovel Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and diagnostics of some of the industry’s largest and most advanced hydraulic shovels. You will work in a fast-paced mining environment ensuring equipment reliability and safe operation for our production teams.
We are especially looking for candidates with experience on:
- O&K RH200 (highly desirable)
- CAT 6050 / CAT 6060
- Komatsu PC8000
- Hitachi EX5600 or EX8000
- O&K RH340 / RH400
What You’ll Do
- Carry out field and workshop repairs.
- Diagnose hydraulic, mechanical, and engine system faults.
- Perform component change-outs and major rebuilds.
- Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Work safely and proactively as part of an experienced maintenance crew.
What You Need
- Trade qualification in Heavy Equipment Fitting / Diesel Fitting / Mechanical
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on large mining shovels
- Strong hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Experience with O&K RH200 will be considered a major advantage.
