As Specialist, External Relations, you will drive Newmont’s success by developing and leading stakeholder engagement plans, supporting operations, and enhancing our license to operate across Asia Pacific. Your work will build strong relationships with government agencies and help shape policy and regulatory outcomes that matter.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

• Apply government relations strategies at national and provincial levels
• Build and sustain networks with government agencies, regulators, and policymakers
• Advise on policy, regulatory, and political trends impacting operations
• Develop and manage stakeholder engagement plans
• Support Newmont’s interests within national and provincial governments
• Implement governance and policies for government affairs
• Proactively identify and mitigate external risks
• Collaborate with peers to develop and implement country strategies

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

• Degree in law, economics, international relations, social science, or related field (preferred)
• Advanced knowledge in stakeholder management, government engagement, policy, or advocacy
• Strong skills in strategy development, advocacy, political risk management, and communications
• Proficiency with major office systems (e.g., MS Office)
• Self-awareness, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement
• Ability to build relationships, influence, and negotiate effectively

This role involves regular engagement with senior government officials, regulatory bodies, and internal executive leadership.
