Applications are sought from suitably qualified Papua New Guineans to fill the following positions within the School of Business at the University.
THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
The School of Business offers undergraduate programs in Business Studies with emphasis in Accounting, Management, Information Technology, and Applied Economics. It also offers postgraduate programs including Master of Philosophy in Information Technology and an Executive Master's Degree program in Business Administration (EMBA). The School is in the process of offering comprehensive, structured postgraduate programs and PhD studies. There are over 600 students and 30 full-time faculty members of different nationalities in the department. Computer facilities are available within the department and the university.
Vacancies exist in the discipline of Information & Communications Technology. Applicants must be qualified and experienced, able to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Work experience or research interest in one or more following areas is preferred: E-Commerce Technologies & Systems, Cloud Computing, IS or Network & Cyber Security and Enterprise Database Systems. Demonstrated teaching excellence and quality research with international recognition is required. The appointees will be responsible to the Head of the Department for academic and research leadership, and assist in the operation and administration of the department where necessary. They will perform instructional duties, including supervision of postgraduate students and pursue research and appropriate consulting activities in order to maintain high professional standards within the discipline. They will also be required to make contributions to the department's periodic curriculum review and development, to organise the international accreditation of the programs, and to future accreditation processes
Lecturer in Information & Communications Technology
Applicants must have relevant undergraduate and Master’s qualifications in the ICT related field. At least two (2) years full time university teaching experience and a mature grasp of the subject and a capacity to contribute to its further development in the department is expected. The applicants with research publication records have advantages for recruitment.
The appointee is expected to undertake and consolidate the full range of functions in the department and contribute to development of teaching in the subject areas. Collaborating and cooperating with other stakeholders to achieve positive business outcomes is required. The subjects to be taught by the successful applicant include E-Commerce Technologies & Systems, Cloud Computing, IS or Network & Cyber Security and Enterprise Database Systems.
Condition of Service:
Base Salary: PGK47, 060.00 – PGK55, 518.00
Domestic Market Allowance of PGK13, 639 - PGK20, 817 per annum
(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
