Key Responsibilities:

Household Solar Light Distribution and Installation Implementation

  • Logistical Management: Oversee the collection, transportation, and secure delivery of Household Solar Light Kits (HSLK) from storage sites in Arawa and Buka to villages, ensuring local participation in the final stages of transport and maintaining accountability throughout the process.
  • HSLK Installation (Mainland locations): Manage and quality assure the installation of HSLK across selected villages, provide necessary installation tools and materials, and supervise a team of installers and data collection enumerators to ensure every home in the village receives a kit.
  • Support to BTC Students: Coordinate with the Project Coordinator to arrange the logistics for BTC students involved in the installation process, including transportation, accommodation, stipends, meals, and conducting individual reviews post-installation to assess their performance and learning.

Networking and Collaboration

  • Support engagement with key stakeholders for successful implementation, influence, learning and resource sharing.
  • Represent WVPNG in key inter-agency meetings and engagement.
  • Engage and build relationships with key partners and government counterparts
  • Engage with donor agencies and other stakeholders from time to time, as required.

Documentation, Reporting and knowledge management.

  • Led the project team to write and submit comprehensive reporting and specific activity reports, when necessary, promptly.
  • Support routine Reporting –narrative and financial reporting, including realisation of activities versus budget utilisation;
  • Take the lead in documentation and sharing of Impact/success stories and best practices to promote learning.
  • Organize partner meetings for partners to share progress, as well as create spaces and opportunities for action-learning

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • The applicant for the Project Officer job placement must have a minimum of a Certificate in development studies, sociology, or other relevant fields, which is a requirement (a bachelor’s degree or diploma is an advantage).
  • Previous experience in community work, Economic Development and Livelihood is an added
    advantage.
  • At least more than 1 year of experience in field-based programme management and coordination roles would be preferable, and experience working with vulnerable communities and familiarity with humanitarian programming and implementation.
  • Experience in Monitoring & Evaluation.
  • Capacity/potential in leadership, relationship management/networking, and coordination.
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

​Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based 10%: field 90%
  • Travel: Regular travel to the project communities and Stay over in the communities is required
