St John Ambulance is a statutory body that provides 24-hour emergency ambulance services for the Government of Papua New Guinea. St John are the experts in prehospital care, ambulance and major event health services.

Operations Department includes:
- Ambulance Service (NCD and Central)
- Special Operations Unit & Medevac Team
- Event Health Services Unit (local and major Events)
- Paramedic & Prehospital Care Training College

Other departments include:

- First Aid Training
- First Aid Kit sales
- Headquarters Division

St John Ambulance works to create resilient communities by ensuring communities have access to quality prehospital care and ambulance.

Moving a severely injured or sick person can worsen their condition or delay life-saving treatment, such as worsen a spinal injury or make internal bleeding worse.

St John Ambulance is free for any PNG citizen suffering a life-threatening medical emergency. Donations help advance the service and are encouraged.

Areas St John Ambulance currently operate are The National Capital District, Port Moresby, and Central Province.
The Special Operations Unit & Medevac teams are both capable of deploying anywhere in Papua New Guinea for planned or unplanned incidents.
