Position Title: Printer Copier Technician

Location: Head Office – Port Moresby

Division: Daltron

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Printer / Copier Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of multifunction printers, photocopiers, and related office equipment for corporate and commercial clients. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high service standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission and configure Daltron-supported printers, copiers, scanners and multifunction devices in accordance with manufacturer, customer and company standards.
  • Configure and support current print environments, including Windows and macOS drivers, TCP/IP connectivity, Wi-Fi where approved, print queues, scan-to-email, scan-to-folder and secure print features.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, print-quality, firmware, software and network faults using structured troubleshooting, error-code analysis and manufacturer diagnostic tools.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, cleaning, calibration, firmware updates and replacement of approved consumable and maintenance components.
  • Manage assigned incidents and service requests through OMEGA or the approved service management platform; review device history, prioritise work, provide timely updates and escalate SLA risks early.
  • Test devices and connected workflows after service, confirm operational readiness with the customer and obtain acceptance before closing the job.
  • Record accurate service notes, meter readings, fault findings, labour, travel, parts usage, warranty details and customer confirmation promptly.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned tools, test equipment, spare parts and technician stock; request parts, return defective items and support stock reconciliation.
  • Provide practical user training and advice on safe operation, print quality, paper handling, secure printing and fault prevention.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Certificate, diploma, trade qualification or recognized technical training in electronics, electrotechnology, information technology, mechatronics or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years’ relevant field-service experience supporting printers, copiers, scanners or multifunction devices; current manufacturer certification is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows and macOS print environments, TCP/IP networking, print drivers, firmware, scan workflows and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience using a field-service or ticket-management system and maintaining complete service and parts records.
