Role Description:

Pactrade PNG Limited is an established FMCG distributor of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and is an affiliate of CJ Patel Group of Companies in Fiji. Pactrade is seeking to recruit an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team based at Papua New Guinea. Reporting to the finance manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports and support the month-end close process.
• Manage full AP/AR functions, including supplier payments, invoicing, credit control, and collections.
• Oversee inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Assist Finance Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, delivering clear reports.
• Ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements.
• Maintain strong internal controls and support audit processes.
• Work closely with Sales, Warehouse, and Operations teams to support business performance.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and proactively investigate and resolve variances.
• Ensure compliance with PNG tax and statutory requirements.
• Oversee inventory accounting and cost control in a distribution environment. Support and prepare for external and internal audits.

Qualification, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA) or professional membership of a recognized accounting institute is desirable.
• Minimum 4–5 years’ experience as an Accountant, preferably in FMCG or distribution.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and cost accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Willing to work in Papua New Guinea.
