Accountant
Grand Columbia Limited is looking for a highly capable accountant to provide our project team with accounting support. As an Accountant, you will be required to report to the accounting CFO and manage all bills and invoices. Your duties will also include reviewing budgets and preparing financial reports.
To be successful, you should possess extensive experience in accounting and the ability to provide project managers with accurate financial information.
DUTIES:
Administration
- Manage all accounting related functions for assigned projects.
- Assist project and maintenance teams with any questions or needs related to the accounting department.
- Manage invoices, payments, and compliance for assigned projects.
- Have an understanding of compliance requirements for assigned projects
Operational.
- Generating, updating, and maintaining reports on income, expenditure, and financial transactions.
- Keeping a record of project expenses, contracts, and other accounting data
- Communicating the project offerings, profits, and progress to the Accounting Manager
- Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the financial sector
- Cost Accounting
- Raising project claims/Project Accounting
- Preparing scheduled/Monthly Management Reports
- Liaising with the bank for Forex
- Perform all other daily accounting duties
- Knowledge of Attaché’ accounting software
- Sound computer skills with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, the Internet and graphs
- Work independently and produce Reports.
Other duties
- Other duties as directed or required by the General Manager, Properties.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or similar business degree.
- CPA certification is mandatory
- Minimum 5 years prior experience working as an accountant or bookkeeper.
- Experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and vendor payments.
- Strong communication skills.
- Key competencies are Communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability.
- Complete knowledge of Microsoft and accounting software, laws, and regulations
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Ability to work under pressure
- Detail-oriented and highly motivated individual
