Accounts Payable Officer
Comrade Trustee Services Limited (CTSL), as Trustee for the Defence Force Retirement Benefit Fund (DFRBF), is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and experienced individual to join the team as an Accounts Payable Officer.
Responsibilities Summary
The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for processing supplier invoices, managing vendor payments, and reconciling accounts payable transactions. The Accounts Payable officer ensures accurate and timely processing of payments while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the role of the Accounts Payable Officer:
- Review and verify supplier invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Process payments to vendors and reconcile accounts payable transactions.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
- Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports as needed.
- Timely posting of invoices and payments on general ledger.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable.
- Work closely with Finance management to monitor risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize potential for loss within Finance division.
- Any lawful instructions in line with the position required by superiors.
Qualification and Experience
The ideal candidate must at a minimum satisfy the following criteria:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Must be a CPA holder and have current membership with CPA PNG or related professional association.
- Proven work experiences in accounts payable or similar role
- Good understanding of accounting laws, principles such as PNG Tax Law, IFRS, IAS and best practices
- Working knowledge of the Superannuation (General Provisions) Act 2000 would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
