ADVISOR– EMS
Reporting to the Senior Advisor, the Advisor - EMS provides environmental assurance to site operations through hazard identification, risk assessment, field verification, incident investigation, auditing and workforce engagement. The role supports operational teams to maintain compliance, implement effective controls and drive continual improvement in environmental performance.
The ideal candidate must have:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science.
- Current Class 3 PNG Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated ability to identify environmental hazards, assess environmental risks and implement effective control measures.
- Demonstrated experience conducting environmental incident investigations and root cause analysis using methodologies such as 5-Whys, ICAM or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience conducting environmental inspections, field interactions, planned task observations and compliance verification activities.
- Demonstrated experience conducting internal audits, identifying non-conformances and verifying corrective actions.
- Working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Strong data management, reporting and HSE management system experience.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage operational personnel and contractors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify environmental hazards and risks across operational areas.
- Participate in environmental risk assessments and support the implementation of effective controls.
- Conduct environmental interactions, inspections and planned task observations in operational work areas.
- Conduct environmental incident investigations and support the timely close-out of corrective actions.
- Conduct internal EMS audits, compliance inspections and verification activities.
- Enter and maintain environmental data within the HSE Management System.
- Respond to environmental incidents and provide field support during incident response activities.
- Deliver environmental stewardship training, toolbox talks and awareness programs.
- Support environmental reward and recognition programs.

Assist with the implementation and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System.
Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months). Candidates must be PNG Nationals and available to start immediately. Females are encouraged to apply.
