Our client seeks a dedicated, physically fit professional to lead yard and loadout operations during night shift rotations.

The opportunity
A strategic and results-driven logistics professional to ensure operational excellence across material handling, stevedoring, and yard operations. This role is vital for managing over 40,000 tons of cargo shipped annually.

The Role
The ideal candidate will execute physical checks and preparation for all incoming and outgoing cargos to ensure flawless transit and storage. You will drive discipline in safety and packing standards to optimize the preservation and security of all materials. As a key team member, you will guide machinery movement, maintain high HSE standards, and ensure all records and logs are kept up to date.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, physically check, and prepare cargo for storage or loadout (Load out), ensuring all items are correctly arranged and palletized.
• Lash, tie down, and safely secure all materials, taking into account equipment weights and dimensions.
• Spot and guide all material handling equipment, directing operators to ensure correct cargo handling.
• Prepare required accompanying documents, such as packing lists, and verify contents of all incoming POs against receipt documents.
• Maintain yard, warehouses, and CTUs in good working condition through cleaning, minor repairs, and painting.
• Demonstrate personal commitment to HSE Policy and the 12 Golden Rules, exercising STOP-work authority for any unsafe activity.
• Support inventory takes by physically counting items and filling out record sheets.

Qualification and Experience:

• High School Diploma or sufficient relevant work experience.
• 6+ years of experience and a strong track record in warehouse or storekeeper operations is a requirement.
• Must be perfectly physically fit as the job involves intensive manual labour and demanding activities.
• Certified Slinger / Banksman with First Aid, Firefighting, and Spill Containment training.
• Profound experience with material handling and lifting operations, including cranes, forklifts, and reach stackers.
• Good knowledge of Oil & Gas equipment and materials.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Tok Pisin.
