Agricultural Specialist

(Mixed Farming & Livestock Development)

AGL is seeking an experienced Agricultural Specialist to lead the development of the Company's integrated mixed farming programme. The role will focus on establishing sustainable poultry, piggery, cattle and future crop production to strengthen group's food supply chain, improve food security, reduce procurement risks, and enhance long-term profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement group's mixed farming strategy covering poultry, piggery, cattle and future crop production.
• Design breeding, nutrition, animal health and production programmes to maximize productivity.
• Develop local feed production and pasture management programmes to reduce feed costs.
• Implement farm biosecurity, vaccination, animal welfare and quality assurance systems.
• Prepare farm budgets, production forecasts, KPIs and management reports.
• Coordinate production planning with group’s Catering and Retail operations to ensure reliable supply.
• Lead recruitment, training and supervision of farm personnel.
• Identify expansion opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build relationships with government agencies, suppliers, research institutions and local farmers.
• Ensure compliance with PNG agricultural, environmental and food safety regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Animal Science, Agribusiness, Veterinary Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial agriculture or mixed farming management.
• Demonstrated experience in poultry, piggery and cattle production.
• Knowledge of feed formulation, pasture management and farm financial management.
• Strong leadership, planning and analytical skills.
• Experience in Papua New Guinea or similar environments is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
