Airline Operations Control Officer

We are seeking an Airline Operations Control Officer based in Port Moresby. The position reports to the Manager Operations Control and is responsible for the duties and responsibilites outlined below.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing daily operations such that flights operate as per the published plan and in line with corporate and legal requirements, and ensuring that disruptions to the plan are minimized
• Oversight of Flight Dispatch
• Publishing weekly operational schedules, and for other periods as required
• Actioning adjustments to the forward plan in terms of equipment changes, extra services, cancellations, configuration changes etc. and promulgating to all concerned
• Final checking and sign off of the daily movement sheets prior to publication
• Contributing to the development of the Company’s reputation as an excellent service provider
• Reporting on all air turn backs
• Overseeing training of staff
• Other duties as required from time to time by the Manager Airline Operations.

Qualifications/Experiences:

• Educated up to minimum of Grade 12;
• Tertiary qualification would be considered ideal;
• Quick learning skills;
• Be able to understand and communicate with people; and
• Have good computer, customer skills and mathematical skills.
• Good analytical thinker.
