The Baptist Union of Papua New Guinea (BUPNG) has immediate vacancies for the following positions. These are full time positions based in Tinsley Rural Hospital, Mul Baiyer District, Western Highlands Province.

Anaesthetic Scientific Officer (8CHSWHP211)

Purpose of the role

Responsible for efficient and effective administration of aesthetic drugs and techniques to all categories of patients undergoing surgeries. Reports to the Medical Superintendent to fully understand and implement the activities at the facility.

Out line of duties:

• Administer all Aesthetic drugs
• Prepare and submit reports on a timely basis to SMO
• Provide /conduct Specialists O&G services to health centres
• Ensure procedures performed are within approved BY- Laws. Report damages of Machines /Equipment to authorities for maintenance /Purchase
• Attend to on – calls and emergences
• Ordering, stocking and prescribe all Aesthetic drugs and train Junior Aesthetic Officers
• Maintain accurate statistics of anaesthetics given

Requirements for the role:

• Must have Certificate in Nursing/Health Extension from a recognized institution
• Bachelor /Diploma in Anaesthetics Science is essential
• Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience as a Aesthetic Scientific Officer
• Must be registered with PNG Medical Board
• Good Public Relation and Communication skills
• Must have a valid NID Card or Birth Certificate
