Feasibility Architect / Concept Design Lead (RIBA Stages 0–2)
Papua New Guinea (Remote / Hybrid / Project-Based)
This role is focused on speed, clarity, and commercial intelligence at the front end of the design process, rather than detailed technical delivery or construction documentation.
You will be working closely with development and investment stakeholders to rapidly translate site opportunities into clear, test-fit driven design strategies that inform go/no-go decisions.
- Site analysis and constraint mapping
- High-level development appraisals
- Test fits and yield/density studies
- Concept massing and early-stage design options
- Visualisation support for internal investment decisions
- Rapidly assess new development sites and prepare feasibility studies
- Produce concise project briefs based on planning, site, and commercial constraints
- Develop test-fit layouts, area schedules, and early yield calculations
- Create massing models, sketch concepts, and 3D studies
- Produce quick, clear visual outputs (SketchUp / Rhino / Revit conceptual level)
- Iterate designs quickly based on cost, planning, and strategy inputs
- Communicate clearly with non-design stakeholders including developers and investors
- Support investment decision-making through visual and analytical outputs
- Manage multiple feasibility studies concurrently under tight timeframes
- Architecture qualification (or equivalent recognised experience)
- Strong experience working within RIBA Stages 0–2 (or equivalent concept/pre-planning stages)
- Demonstrated experience in development-led or feasibility architecture work
- Strong commercial understanding of:
- Yield and density
- Buildability constraints
- Development economics (basic to intermediate level)
- Highly proficient in:
- SketchUp and/or Rhino
- Concept-level Revit (or equivalent BIM awareness)
- Fast rendering / visualisation tools (Enscape, Lumion, V-Ray, etc.)
- Ability to work quickly and iteratively with incomplete information
- Strong communication skills, particularly with non-technical stakeholders
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple parallel studies
This role involves early-stage design and feasibility work only.
To legally act as the registered architect of record in Papua New Guinea, local professional registration is required.
- This position does not require registration to perform concept, feasibility, or pre-design services, as all statutory documentation and sign-off will be undertaken by a locally registered architect where required.
