We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join Capex Solutions Limited, a growing construction company established in Lae, Papua New Guinea. We are engaged in projects across the spectrum of Commercial, Residential, Civil, Industrial and Mining sectors.

The Role

We are looking for a creative and inspired architectural draftsman to handle projects from the initial client briefing through to the final stages of construction. Working alongside our Design Team, you will be responsible for designing buildings to create unique, structurally sound and efficient structures in line with our client’s vision. To be successful in this position you should be able to visualise space in three dimensions, have a good understanding of construction technologies, and be an effective project manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Meeting with clients and determining their needs and requirements.
• Managing design projects from concept development through to completion.
• Developing and presenting project proposals.
• Adjusting designs and plans to meet the client's needs.
• Preparing drawings, blueprints, specifications, 3D renderings and construction documents.
• Developing Shop drawings for issue to Fabrication division
• Integrating engineering elements, complying with safety standards and local planning regulations in design outputs.
• Determining and adhering to budgets and timelines.
• Managing project teams and collaborating with other construction professionals.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Higher education qualifications in Architecture/Drafting, or appropriate field from an accredited institution
• Three years’ experience as a draftsman or in a similar position
• Understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems and site requirements
• Ability to work autonomously and with the Design team
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Microsoft Office suite is required
• Must be able to send examples own drawings.

Immediate start desirable in Lae. A competitive package commensurate with skills and experience will be offered to the right candidate.
