As part of our continued growth, Nestlé PNG Limited is seeking a qualified and
experienced Area Sales Manager to join our Highlands Regional Sales Team, based in Mt. Hagen.
Reporting to the Sales & NAC Manager – Highlands, the Area Sales Manager will be responsible for delivering all sales objectives and KPIs across Field Sales, Distributor management, and customer development within the assigned territory. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to drive sell-out performance across diverse customer channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver volume, distribution, visibility, and share targets/KPIs for the assigned area.
- Manage and grow sell‑out performance across all channels.
- Develop and implement field sales plans and business strategies aligned with monthly and annual
targets. - Build and maintain strong customer relationships, supported by effective business planning by category and account.
- Ensure high‑quality merchandising standards and execute planograms in line with Nestlé guidelines.
- Implement and control promotional activities according to the marketing calendar to maximize category performance.
- Manage and safeguard company assets including vehicles, POS materials, demo equipment, and office
tools. - Lead, coach, and develop Nestlé’s direct sales team to build capability and drive execution excellence.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the FMCG industry is highly desirable.
- Strong field sales planning experience with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer engagement skills.
- Highly results-driven with a strong focus on achieving targets and continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of trade standards, merchandising principles, and route-to-market execution.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes, order cycles, and sales technology tools.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
