Summary

The Assistant Electrician supports electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems. They assist with electrical tasks and learn the necessary skills and knowledge to become a qualified electrician.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing electrical systems, wiring, and components.
  • Inspect and test electrical equipment and systems.
  • Repair or replace faulty wiring and electrical parts.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents.
  • Learn and apply electrical codes and regulations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
  • Collaborate with experienced electricians on projects.

Job Requirements

  • Grade 10 and 12 or equivalent.
  • Interest in and willingness to learn about electrical systems and wiring.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • Good physical fitness and manual dexterity.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program (if available).
