Are you a highly organized Front Office professional with a passion for operational excellence and team leadership? Crowne Plaza Residences Port Moresby is seeking an experienced Assistant Front Office Manager (AFOM) to support the leadership of our Front Office operation.
About the Role
As Assistant Front Office Manager, you are responsible for daily Front Office operations and administration. Reporting to the Guest Relations Manager (GRM), you turn department direction into reliable shift execution, management coverage, team performance, controls, reporting and follow through
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the Front Office, ensuring smooth and professional service delivery across all shifts.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Duty Managers and Front Office colleagues.
- Ensure management coverage is maintained, and operational standards are consistently achieved.
- Support service recovery efforts and assist with resolving guest concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Act as the operational lead for Front Office during the absence of the Guest Relations Manager.
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly Front Office administration requirements.
- Ensure accurate completion of audits, reconciliations, cashier balancing, guest account reviews, and operational reporting.
- Monitor guest billing, payment follow-up, outstanding accounts, and GL coding accuracy.
- Oversee shift reporting, handovers, departmental records, and compliance documentation.
- Support end-of-month processes and departmental reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, Tourism, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Duty Manager, Front Office Supervisor, Senior Guest Services, or similar leadership role within a hotel environment.
What We're Looking For
- Proven Duty Manager or senior Front Office supervisory experience with readiness to manage department-wide operations.
- Strong knowledge of Opera PMS, guest accounts, room inventory management, key card systems, and shift reporting.
- Excellent understanding of audits, reconciliations, payment follow-up processes, GL reviews, and end-of-month procedures.
- Experience preparing rosters, managing timesheets, supporting HR processes, and coaching team members.
- Working knowledge of Canary Technologies, DocMX, and other operational systems.
- Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies and high-pressure situations.
- Strong collaboration skills with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Finance, Purchasing, and Security teams.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with strong administrative capability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
