The opportunity:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Hotel Manager to join their operations for a well know hotel in Lae. This hotel offers comfortable guest rooms, a refreshing outdoor pool, restaurant, bar and in room dining + an entertainment area with gaming options. It serves both business and leisure travellers, making it a go-to location for events, dining, and relaxation. The successful candidate will play a key part in overseeing hotel operations, ensuring guest satisfaction, and helping to manage budgets and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing hotel operations including F&B, Front Office, Housekeeping, and Guest Services
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining service quality, responding to feedback, and upholding hotel standards
  • Oversee F&B operations, ensuring quality dining experiences and efficient service
  • Support event coordination, ensuring seamless execution
  • Manage budgets, cost control, and assist in financial planning for the F&B department
  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff through training and performance management
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness standards in all hotel areas
  • Foster effective communication and teamwork across departments
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and staff scheduling as needed
  • Handle operational issues and guest concerns promptly and professional
Key requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar management role
  • A background in Food & Beverage (F&B) Operations is highly regarded
  • A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred
  • Strong leadership and staff development capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Experience with event coordination and guest-facing operations is a plus
