Overview
TE (PNG) is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Assistant HR & Payroll Officer to join our Human Resources team. The successful candidate will provide support in payroll processing, employee records management, HR administration, recruitment activities, and other human resource functions to ensure the efficient operation of the Department.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
- Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll in an accurate and timely manner.
- Verify timesheets, attendance records, leave applications, and payroll data.
- Maintain payroll records and employee information.
- Assist with payroll reporting, statutory deductions, superannuation and reconciliations.
Human Resources
- Maintain and update employee personnel files and HR records.
- Assist with recruitment activities, including job advertisements, interview coordination, and onboarding.
- Prepare employment contracts, letters, and HR-related documentation.
- Support employee induction and orientation programs.
- Assist with leave administration and employee benefits records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Provide administrative support to the HR Manager as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Human Resources, Payroll Processing or Administration.
- Knowledge of payroll processes and employment practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience/knowledge with Pronto Payroll will be an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
