ASSISTANT VETERINARIAN

Zenag Chicken is the longest established and leading producer of high-quality chickens and eggs in PNG. Established in 1946 with its corporate HQ in Lae Industrial Centre and Poultry Farm based outside of Lae which supplies quality eggs and chicken throughout PNG.

We are looking for a qualified Assistant Veterinarian to be based at our farm. The position oversees animal health and biosecurity for the livestock.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring the stability and growth of poultry health, welfare and performance
• Carrying out detailed clinical necropsy on poultry
• Interpreting results and identifying opportunities of improvement
• Collecting and handling tissue samples with integrity
• Supervising vaccinations, flock transfers and grading procedures
• Assisting in conducting regular biosecurity inspections
• Managing the department’s inventory

Job Requirements

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science,
• Must have a Minimum of 1 year experience in an agricultural/poultry company
• Must have working experience in diverse and challenging environment
• Must have the ability to critically analyse data and suggest solutions
• Must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills
• Must have basic computing skills
