AUTO ELECTRICIAN – PORT MORESBY

High Arctic focuses on delivering tailored energy solutions in Papua New Guinea, a region we have supported for over 17 years through oil and gas exploration and production. We are now seeking to employ an experienced Auto Electrician to join our team Port Moresby-based team for an immediate start. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, fault‑finding, repair, and installation of electrical systems on company vehicles and rental equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Carry out electrical diagnostics, fault-finding, repair and installation on vehicles, mobile plant and equipment.
• Inspect, test and maintain electrical systems including lightings, charging systems, starters, control wiring and accessories.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with the company procedures, OEM requirements and safety standards.
• Maintain tools, test equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Complete maintenance and inspection documentation accurately and on time.
• Actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and compliance processes.

To succeed in this role, Candidates will meet the following criteria:

• Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician (recognised in PNG).
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in automotive or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Proven experience with fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work rostered shifts and travel to site locations when required

Desirable:

• Experience with rental equipment, heavy vehicles or industrial environments.
• Exposure to remote or site-based operations.
• Current PNG Driver’s license.
