Auto Electrician

We are a major construction company based in Lae, Morobe Province delivering major infrastructure and building projects across Papua New Guinea. We're looking for an energetic and proactive Auto Electrician to join our Plant & Hire team.

If you're passionate about finding faults in vehicle, solving complex puzzle, repair wiring, maintenance & installation of electrical components, we want to hear from you!

As part of Plant & Hire team, the successful incumbent for this role will be responsible for making sure that all assigned auto electrical requirements for the workshop and field service operations are promptly carried out correctly as required.

What You'll Do

• Carry out auto electrical maintenance/ repair duties.
• Coordinate closely with the Workshop Manager and consult with clients and contractors.
• Supervise and train apprentices per NATTB standards on the job.
• Trouble shoot/diagnose and assign tasks where relevant.
• Attend break down as and when required.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of Grade 10 certificate
• Vocational/Technical/PETT Certificate in Auto Electrical
• Tradesman Certificate in Auto Electrical
• Minimum of 5 years’ work experiences in similar role 
• Good understanding of electrical/electronic circuit troubleshooting (EFI Systems)
• Extensive knowledge of cranes, heavy equipment, light vehicles and generators
• Ability and willingness to provide hands on leadership – be prepared to lead by example.
• Have some experience and knowledge about Safety Standards and Policies.
