AUTO MOTIVE WORKSHOP MANAGER - LIHIR ISLAND

Responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting vehicle and heavy trucks and machines engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately and repair.
• Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and or upgrade.
• Develop and execute a routine maintenance schedule across the fleet.
• Machines in our fleet include:- Diesel generators, heavy trucks, Wheel loader, Excavator, Screening plant, stacking plant, light Vehicles, light trucks and other small engine machines.

• Inspect vehicle and machine engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately AND REPAIR
• Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain, upgrade and repair.

• Be trained and experienced in petrol and diesel engine rebuilds and overhauls.
• Be trained and experienced in fault diagnosis and repair of manual and automatic transmission of all kinds.

Requirements

• Be an accomplished workshop manager who can run a small workshop and supervise and train local tradesmen and trades assistants to a high level of workmanship.
• Proven experience as auto mechanic both in light vehicles and heavy equipment
• Have good experience in hydraulic system in heavy equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic and air driven components of light and heavy vehicles.
• Be able computer literate and have the ability to source parts and problem solutions from suppliers and manufacturers on the internet.
• Be able to set up and run a workshop assets/tools register and rigorously maintain it.
• Be able to set up and execute a strong safety regimen within the work area.
• Excellent physical condition.
• High school diploma is preferred. Completion of Apprenticeship is essential with at least 10 years’ experience.
• Extra-Curricular courses taken from machine suppliers will be highly considered.
• Non-Smoking, Non- drinking, Quiet respectful person is sought.
• Team Player with hands on mentality is essential.
• Company will provide all PPE, Tools, Food, Medical and Laundry.
• Sundays (or Saturday) depending on religious will be a non-workday.
• Hours will be 9-hour days.
• A police report and a medical certificate will be required.
• References from former Employees/training institutions, course conductors etc. essential. These references must have contactable referees.

Job Location: Lihir Island. Papua New Guinea.
