PNG Air Training Academy (PATA) is the training arm of PNG Air Limited and an approved Part 141 provider delivering aviation and professional training to internal and external clients across Papua New Guinea and the region. We are seeking an experienced, full-time Aviation & Corporate Training Instructor to design and deliver high-quality, competency-based training that meets regulatory standards and reflects PNG Air's commitment to safety and service excellence.
AVIATION & CORPORATE TRAINING INSTRUCTOR
Reporting into the PATA training team, you will develop curriculum, facilitate courses, and assess learners across a portfolio of aviation and professional programmes. You will combine adult-learning expertise with hands-on aviation training experience to keep our content accurate, engaging, and audit-ready.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
To be considered, you must hold:
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or an equivalent recognised training qualification.
- Demonstrated credentials in at least THREE (3) of the following specialist areas:
- Dangerous Goods (DG) Training
- Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Human Factors Training
- Inflight Aviation Security (AVSEC) Training
- First Aid and CPR Training
- Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP)
- Leadership Training
- Customer Service Training
- Sound computer literacy, including confident use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for course materials and reporting.
- A university degree, supported by demonstrated capability across the five competency areas below.
Required competencies (evidenced through qualifications and experience):
● Instructional Design & Learning Theory — understanding how adults acquire and retain knowledge, and designing training accordingly.
● Information Synthesis & Breakdown — distilling complex data into clear, actionable training modules.
● Facilitation & Presentation — proven public-speaking ability and skill in guiding group discussion.
● Project Management — managing timelines, curriculum development and resource allocation.
● Critical Thinking & Analysis — strong research skills to keep content accurate and logically sound.
HIGHLY REGARDED
- Prior experience in a Part 141 or regulated aviation training environment.
- Familiarity with CASA PNG regulatory requirements and Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA).
- Experience delivering training to external, fee-paying clients.
