POSITION VACANCY: BACKHOE OPERATORS

Reinhold Engineering and Group of Companies Limited is a nationally owned civil works and building construction company based in Port Moresby. We are seeking experienced and reliable Backhoe Operators to support civil construction and site operations.

About the Role

You will operate backhoes for excavation, trenching, loading, backfilling and material handling while following site instructions and approved safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform excavation, trenching, loading and backfilling activities as directed.

• Operate front-loader and backhoe functions safely within equipment limits.

• Complete pre-start inspections and promptly report faults.

• Confirm service locations and excavation controls with the supervisor before digging.

• Maintain safe distances from workers, structures, excavations and other plant.

• Coordinate with spotters, supervisors and site crews.

• Maintain equipment records and assist with routine operator care.

Qualifications & Experience

• Demonstrated experience operating backhoes on construction sites.

• Relevant operator competency certification or evidence of training.

• Applicable licences and authorisations for assigned equipment and duties.

• Knowledge of pre-start inspections and safe operating practices.

• Experience in drainage and utility trenching is an advantage.
