We currently have a vacancy for Bakery Team Leader to join our already strong and effective Maintenance Team in POM. Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, the successful incumbent directs, coordinates, and monitors the activities of workgroups involved in the Maintenance of the Bakery production Plant & Machinery and areas within.
The workgroup’s purpose is to maintain all machinery efficiently so there is very minimal or no downtime for the Bakery Production team so that they can meet packaging and sales requirements and to meet their objectives in the daily operations plan.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving Safety Work and Hygiene practises as a daily HABBIT at Workplace
- Focus on getting team members to maintain Self-Hygiene, workplace Housekeeping at respective workstations
- Focus on getting team to follow through in detail any requested Permit to Work procedure system
- Coordinate and follow up on Safety talk/walks (Lead observations) and report any safety findings (Hazzard)
- Take part and lead in achieving Quality and Safety compliance (QA & Safety Audits)
- Drive “Teamwork” practice in our working environment.
- Communication – Follow up and making sure communication is very effective in workplace
- Effectively communicate between team and Supervisors
- Effectively communicate between Eng department and Process Managers & Supervisors.
- Drive and lead daily and weekly team meetings
- Safety Team meetings
- Work Order Meetings
- Communication – Follow up and making sure communication is very effective in workplace
- Eng Team Meetings
- Plan and lead scheduled trainings on process/machine to team
- Assist wherever possible to get team members flexibility to help others in needs & teach other.
- Execution of the Planned Maintenance Work Order Cycle Process (Preventative & Corrective Maintenance)
- Successfully manages and assists in Shutdown Maintenance.
- Plan Daily, Weekly and Monthly Preventative & Electrical tasks and issue out to provide feedback in timely
- Follow up and update critical Spare parts on regular basis
- Executing corrective planned Mechanical Work orders on time
- Required to monitor/Cover production lines as per overall production plans
- Shift coverage – Being available when called upon to cover productions lines or any other urgent work request
- Machine down time – Focus on Capturing and reducing total down times as fast as possible but in a safe manner
- Drive and making sure Breakdown escalation process works in timely manner
- Responsible for collecting, Analysing, and reporting breakdown reports to team
- Drive and implement the breakdown analysis.
To be considered for the role, you will need to have/ be:
Technical/Functional Competencies
Qualifications, (e.g. Tertiary, trade)
- Minimum Grade 12 High School Certificate
- Maintenance Trade Certificate
Business/Technical Skills, (e.g. computing, negotiating, leadership, project management):
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Possess satisfactory language, mathematical and reasoning skills
Experience (Technical and Behavioral):
- Previous experience in Maintenance Fitting
- At least three years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated success in a similar level position within the FMCG industries.
- Ability to self-manage and use initiative
- Punctual and reliable.
- Team Player
- Previous experience with continuous high-speed processing and packaging equipment in an industrial food production environment.
- Ability to do problem solving
