Bar Supervisor

Hargy Oil Palms Limited seeks a Bar Supervisor to manage the daily operations of the Bar at the Hargy Senior Staff Club (HSSC), in Bialla West New Britain Province. The role ensures smooth and efficient service, stock control, accounts reconciliation, cleanliness, and compliance with safety and licensing requirements.

Reporting to the Hospitality and Events Coordinator, the successful candidate will provide a welcoming, professional environment for members and guests while maintaining high service standards and responsible alcohol management.

About the Role

• Bar Operations: Supervise daily opening/closing and operations of the bar.
• Customer Service Excellence: Greet and interact with members and their guests in a polite, friendly and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience. This includes remembering member preferences, names, and past orders to foster a sense of belonging and encourage repeat business.
• Beverage Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, bar snacks (both packaged and prepared in-house), and other non-consumable saleable items.
• Order and Payment Processing: Accurately take food and drink orders and process eftpos payments and members tab payments on BEPOZ Point- of- Sale (POS) system
• Bar Maintenance and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic bar area, including wiping down bar surfaces, washing glassware, clearing tables and responding promptly to spills and breakages.

• Stock Management: Monitor and replenish stock levels of liquor, mixers, garnishes and other bar supplies. Assisting in inventory checks and deliveries.

• Health, Safety, and Legal Compliance: Adhere to all health and Safety guidelines and licensing legislation, including verifying the age of customers and monitoring alcohol consumption to prevent over -intoxication

• Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, communicating well with other bar staff, kitchen staff and management to ensure a seamless operation.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Prior experience in a fast-paced bar, restaurant or private club in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency in POS (BEPOZ) and EFTPOS systems.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Well versed in accounting procedures and stock control knowledge.
• RSA certification desirable.
