The Environment: With over 200 staff Duffy Group are a growing PNG family business, with a coffee roasting plant, bakery, cafe and familiy restaurant as part of our business. We have extensive mechanical services including ovens, freeze driers, generators, refrigeration and refrigerated containers and extensive kitchen equipment. As we grow we'll add more facilities and this role will contribute to the design and building of these facilities.

Role Objective: As the Leading Hand / Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a critical, hands-on role in overseeing all projects and maintenance tasks. You will ensure that all activities are executed efficiently, effectively, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prioritise, supervise and follow up maintenance work for refrigeration, air-conditioning, mechanical systems, and building repairs.

• Actively manage and coordinate all ongoing tasks and projects to ensure timely completion.

• Conduct inspections to maintain quality and compliance with required standards.

• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance staff, fostering skill development and teamwork.

• Troubleshoot and provide technical expertise for complex maintenance issues.

• Report to GM/Maintenance Manager, prepare reports on progress, issues, and completed projects.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience in refrigeration or air-conditioning systems, mechanical work, or building repairs and maintenance.

• Relevant qualifications in a related field (e.g., mechanical engineering, refrigeration, or similar).

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to oversee multiple tasks and team members effectively.

• Hands-on approach to work, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Commitment to ensuring projects are completed to the required standard.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
