The Baptist Union of Papua New Guinea (BUPNG) has immediate vacancies for the following positions. These are full time positions based in Kompiam District Rural Hospital, Kompiam Enga Province.

Biomedical Technician (8CHHENG037) PS 07

Purpose of the role

Responsible to the OIC Maintenance and ensures the health care equipment /machinery are in good working condition. Supports patient diagnosing and treatment by installing, testing, calibrating and repairing equipment.

Outline of duties:

• Conduct routine inspections on machinery /equipment
• Repairing machines/equipment and keeping repair logs of the health facility
• Perform test on new machinery to ensure that it is safe to use
• Train and mentoring of the staff in the correct and appropriate use of the health care/medical equipment
• Keep careful records of equipment and maintain safe functional procedures involving staff interaction is vital for the health facility and staff.

Requirements for the role:

• Must have Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science or Bachelor degree in Nursing care or Electrical Engineering
• Must have Minimum of 3- 5 years of work experience as a Bio Medical Technician in a Hospital setting
• Knowledgeable in Electronics, Biology and Chemistry
• PNG Medical Board/Committee of PNG
• Good Public Relation and Communication skills
• Must have a valid NID Card or Birth Certificate and good work ethics
