About the Role

This is a leadership role with real responsibility and autonomy. Reporting directly to Head Office, you'll oversee the Lae Branch with over 50+ staff across warehouse, cartage, and workshop functions—including other fellow expat managers who will report to you directly. You’ll work closely with the head office but have the freedom to structure and lead daily operations.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in practical environments, enjoys leading from the front, and is eager to drive improvements on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for the overall performance and efficiency of the Lae Branch
• Lead, mentor, and supervise department heads
• Drive operational excellence through planning, tracking, and implementation
• Ensure alignment of daily operations with broader company goals
• Oversee compliance with safety, regulatory, and customs requirements
• Serve as the senior point of contact for major clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders
• Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Conversational English. Conversational in Chinese Preferred.
• Experience in cartage, freight forwarding, or export logistics is a strong plus
• Proven experience in logistics, operations, or transport management
• Strong leadership with a practical, hands-on management style
• Comfortable making decisions with limited resources and support
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Sheets
• Adaptable and well-suited for a rugged, fast-paced work environment
• Preferably from a rural or regional background
• Willingness to be based in Lae, Papua New Guinea

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
