Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new general insurance clients. The role focuses on expanding the company’s client base, building strong relationships with brokers, agents, corporate clients and other key stakeholders, as well as promoting the company’s insurance products and services. This role is critical to achieving the company’s strategic objective of increasing market share in general insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and prospect new general insurance business opportunities.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the client base.
- Present and promote the company’s insurance products and services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents and corporate clients.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients.
- Work closely with the underwriting team to structure competitive insurance solutions.
- Prepare proposals, quotations and presentations for prospective clients.
- Negotiate terms and conditions in collaboration with the underwriting team.
- Represent the company at industry events, meetings and networking functions
- Provide regular reports to the COO on business development activities and pipeline.
- Monitor market trends and recommend new products or market opportunities to management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Insurance or related field (preferred) equivalent level of experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in sales, marketing or business development in insurance or financial services.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Results-driven with a strong commercial mindset.
