CAN MAKING TECHNICIAN -LAE BASE

International Food Corporation ltd, the leading manufacture of Besta Mackerel and Tuna products in PNG and South Pacific seeking to recruit highly motivated and qualified experience individual to fill the position of Can Making Technician.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

The 2-piece Can Technician of Production is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing production equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality can Manufacturing.

Key JOB Responsibilities

• I Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Sound knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act with emphasis on the requirements.
• Operate and monitor 2-piece can production equipment, include press cuppers, body makers, Necker’s and decorators.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Conduct equipment setup and adjustments to meet production specifications.
• Minimize downtime by quickly addressing equipment malfunctions.
• Proven track record with hands on experience in PLC and maintenance activities.
• Be prepared to work in the field with a hands-on approach.
• Ability to plan, co-ordinate, lead and control activities.
• Work closely with the Can-Making Supervisor and other departments, including quality control and maintenance, to ensure that production goals are met.
• High standard of housekeeping must be maintained at all times.
• To prevent or minimize waste and pollution in the air, noise, lead, and discharges.
• To perform any other duties as and when required by the Management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant
• 2-4 years of experience operating and maintaining can-making equipment.
• Advantage if have a knowledge of can-making processes and equipment, including sheet metal forming, welding, and seam
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Experience in can operations process are advantage.
