CARGO SUPERVISOR - HAGEN

The Operations Department is seeking for an experienced candidate for the position of Cargo Supervisor based in Hagen at Kagamuga Terminal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Cargo Supervisor is responsible to the Airport Manager for:

• Attending daily Tool Box meetings and briefings
• Preparing equipment for arriving and departing International and Domestic aircraft
• Assist with marshalling of International Freight Aircraft.
• Work with Ramp Supervisor to ensure on time departures
• Assist the Cargo Systems Officers team
• Identify opportunities to make up/breakdown consignments to maximise uplift
• Supervision and management of Cargo Officers ensuring;
• Manual handling practise are followed
• Consignment are recorded and stored correctly in the ware house
• Consignments are handled in a safe, respectable manner
• Appropriate daily checks are being conducted
• Manifest and consignments are accurate and delivered in a timely manner
• PPE is being used
• Work with the cargo Ops Manager to ensure sufficient manpower is rostered and allocated
• Operational issues are escalated to the Cargo Ops Manager
• Monitoring and assisting Cargo Officers
• Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment
• Ensure GSE is in safe working order performing schedule checks
• Using GSE in safe and responsible manner
• Supervising staff preparing cargo for delivery to and from aircraft
• Assist where necessary for the loading and unloading of aircraft as per instructions given by the Ramp Supervisor or Ramp Operations Manager
• Safe driving of vehicles on the apron and around aircraft
• Recognising and handling of dangerous goods in accordance with IATA Regulations
• Correctly handling and loading of Live animals and special loads
• Report any Safety or Security occurrences to Ramp Supervisor/Ramp Operations Manager immediately followed with a report to the Cargo Operations Manager
• Ensure all Cargo officers adhere to all company procedures and Policies
• Develop and maintain effective communication effective communications with all staff
• Ensure prompt notification of any changes to cargo up-lift due to operational requirements
• Identify areas of improvement in all areas of Cargo Management

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES

• Educated to a level of acceptability by Company;
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience preferably in airlines industry or similar environment
• PNG Drivers licence
• Work place health and safety understanding
