Position

We’re seeking to recruit a results-driven and professional Carpenter for our Port Moresby office. The Carpenter is responsible for carrying out general carpentry, repair and maintenance work to support the safe and proper operation of the business. The role includes construction, installation, repair and maintenance of wooden structures, fixtures and other related items as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general carpentry, repair and maintenance work as required.
• Construct, install and repair doors, frames, shelves, counters and other wooden fixtures.
• Measure, cut and assemble timber and other materials accurately.
• Inspect wooden structures and fixtures and identify areas requiring repair or replacement.
• Carry out routine maintenance to prevent damage and maintain facilities in good condition.
• Use carpentry tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Ensure completed work is of good quality and meets required standards.
• Assist with renovation, improvement and maintenance projects as directed.
• Keep work areas clean, organized and safe during and after completing work.
• Take proper care of company tools, equipment and materials.
• Report damaged tools, equipment, materials or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
• Work cooperatively with other departments and maintenance staff.
• Perform other reasonable duties as directed by management.
• Help with other jobs assigned within the Department and Company.

Qualifications & Experiences

• Certificate or trade qualification in Carpentry or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of practical experience in carpentry, construction or general maintenance.
• Experience in commercial or industrial environments is an advantage.
• Practical knowledge of carpentry work, repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to use common carpentry tools and equipment safely.
• Ability to use common tiling tools and equipment safely.
